Part of the mission of SFC Running is teaching individuals healthy habits through running, fitness, and nutrition coaching. As Jim Ryun famously said, "Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going." We use accountability and goal setting, through our personal and group training, and our end-of-program races, to motivate our athletes and help them maintain the habitual practice of physical activity. Consistency is the key to running success and overall optimal fitness.
A core belief of SFC Running is that individuals who are progressively challenged with running and exercise can achieve and elevate their fitness goals, bringing about a deep sense of achievement and satisfaction. As Steve Prefontaine famously said, "To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift."
